About

My name is Tommy Meador, and I am the pastor of Big Stevens Creek Baptist Church in North Augusta. You can visit our website to learn more about our church. God has given me a wonderful wife, Staci, and a really cool little boy, Luke. I grew up in Augusta, Georgia. I moved away when I was 18 to attend college at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. I majored in piano performance thinking I was going to tour the world playing classical piano, but while I was at Mercer God called me into ministry. He specifically called me to preach, and I am so thankful that He did! After college, I moved to the New Orleans area to attend New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where I received Master of Divinity, Master of Theology, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. I also had the opportunity to serve as pastor of some great churches while I was there. We moved to North Augusta in October of 2009 to begin our ministry at Big Stevens Creek, and we love it here! We are looking forward to continuing to make Christ known in the North Augusta area and around the world.

I love preaching the Word of God. There really is nothing else I’d rather do. One of the benefits of preaching each week is the amount of time I get to spend studying the Word of God. During my times of study I learn so much that I want to share. It’s impossible to share all I learn on a Sunday morning. That’s where this blog comes in. One of the purposes of this blog is to share the overflow of my studies with you. Also, I’m still growing in ministry and learning what it means to be a pastor. I have so much to learn! I want to share my journey as a pastor with you. I want to share with you some of the things that I am learning as I attempt to become the pastor that God desires me to be.
